A Closet Refresh with Morgan Willett
⚡️ CLOSET TRANSFORMATION with Morgan Willett ⚡️
This fashion and fitness influencer & CEO was looking to create a closet space that represented how she runs her business and life — with organization, thought, and purpose.
Fashion is a big part of her business, but her closet left her feeling anxious, stressed, and overwhelmed. Morgan’s closet was bursting with clothes, which made it difficult for her to clearly see and know where everything was. We wanted to transform her closet into a functional, joyful space where she could easily find her clothes and showcase her outfits.
The key things we did to complete this closet refresh:
The Joy-check. Morgan was ready for a life of LESS STUFF, and game to joy-check every single item in her closet. By letting go of items she wasn’t wearing (and loving!), she was able to open up space and better appreciate what she had.
Color Coordination. We arranged her hanging clothes by color and type. We also made sure to use the same type of hanger (uniform hangers is an easy way to upgrade the look of your closet) and made sure that NO clothing was dragging on the floor.
Breathing Space. Just because there is space, does not mean you have to fill it! Initially, the storage boxes on the wall shelf were touching the ceiling. This made the closet space feel even more cramped and tiny. By utilizing the shelves for shoes only, we were able to create uniformity and get back more of that visual open space.
Vertical Storage. By joy-checking, folding clothes, and storing them vertically in the mesh drawers, we were able to maximize storage space. As a result, we were able to turn the open top mesh drawers into a display spot for jewelry, headbands, sunglasses, and accessories. Folding and storing swimsuits vertically and by color, also meant that Morgan could easily see all her swimsuits at a glance (instead of rummaging through the deep trunk!).
Floor Space. We neatly tucked items in bins against the walls (under hanging clothes) and cleared shoes off the floor and let go of the trunk. This made this tiny closet feel much bigger when there wasn’t something up against every inch of every wall.
The result is a refreshed closet that is more spacious and lighter — a curated collection that is the perfect fit for this powerhouse girl boss!
